The No Brand Apocalypse continues, flashing forward to September of 2010… and seeing what one person must do to survive in a world ruled by lawlessness, and “biker gangs” rove the wasteland… or something like that.
STEAK is this upcoming weekend! For those of you who don’t know what STEAK is, it’s an annual gaming event the NoBrandCon staff run every year at UW-Eau Claire. This year’s STEAK will be happening on the second floor of the UWEC Davies Center in the Badger, Clearwater, and Wisconsin rooms in the Skylight Lounge area. The event starts at 10 AM both on Saturday the 20th, and Sunday the 21st and runs till 11PM each night. You can check out the event’s facebook page linked at the beginning for more info!
Secondly, we’ve confirmed this week with the Ramada Inn this week that the main convention hotel is completely booked up for NoBrandCon weekend. They are currently accepting names for a waiting list, but in case you can’t get a room, we’ve established two hotels again this year as overflow to accommodate those attendees who can’t get a room at the Ramada but still need a place to stay during the weekend.

We’ve established special rates at both hotels for our attendees, so you’ll need to call the hotels directly in order to get those special convention rates. Just mention you’re attending NoBrandCon weekend from April 30th to May 2nd and you should be good to go.
The No Brand Apocalypse is coming. On May 1st 2010, the Saturday of No Brand Con 9, Executron will activate the Multi Annular Colliding Gravitron Unification Field Fibrillating Inverting Neutralizer - the M.A.C.G.U.F.F.I.N. When that happens, everything will change.
It’s about 3 months and counting to NoBrandCon 9, and we have a couple of important updates to share with everyone!
First, we’d like to announce our first three guests of honor for this year’s convention! Chris Cason, Todd Haberkorn, and Wendy Powell. All three have extensive backgrounds in voice acting as well as other areas and we’re very fortunate to have all three of them attending this year’s convention! Second, we’d like to announce we have our new cofirmed dates for STEAK 2009/10. This year’s STEAK will be occuring on February 20 & 21, 2010 on the second floor of the UWEC Davie’s Center. We will be publishing a schedule of events for STEAK in the upcoming weeks, so be sure to check back as we get closer to 2/20!
We’re opening up Korea! And by Korea, we mean our Artist Alley (as we all know that’s where everything gets drawn in this industry anyway). Well, actually, it’s been open for a little while, but we forgot to tell you about it. Yes, we kind of feel bad about that — but we’re telling you now! Did you miss us at Geek.kon this year? Well worry not! The No Brand Con express is going to yet another convention! This weekend we’ll be a Daisho Con in Stevens Point, WI! We had a great time there last year, so we decided to go again!
We’ll be running one of our signature room parties at Daisho Con, so be sure to look around the con space for information about it (including where it is, when it starts, and how many extra hats you should have on).
Every Fall the past few years, several NoBrandCon staffers have put together a table-top gaming event on the UWEC campus called STEAK. This year’s STEAK is planned for Sat. & Sun. December 5 & 6 on the second floor of the UWEC Davies Center which is located on the college’s lower campus.
On top of the usual table-top gaming, we’ll also be putting together a video game room for those who might want to do something a bit different during event. The best news of all is that STEAK is a FREE event, so feel free to stop by with a few friends!

Several staff members are going to be heading down to Geekkon in Madison, WI this weekend at the Sheraton Madison Hotel for three days of convention fun!
We’ll be running a room party on Saturday night, so be sure to check out NoBrandCon’s Facebook, Twitter, or MySpace pages for updates on when and where it’ll be taking place!
Normally we tend to be funny in this space and only really talk about ourselves and/or the wacky adventures of the No Brand Heroes. This time though, we have a much more serious topic.
Often No Brand Con guest Tiffany Grant emailed us to inform us that to benefit a Minnesota boy who was struck by a car, she along with several others from the anime industry notables are running an online auction to help his family pay his medical bills.
This is a very worthy cause, and we at No Brand Con would like to show our full support.
