No Brand Con 2008 Registration Now Open!

We’re pleased to announce that both attendee and vendor registration is open for No Brand Con 2008, our seventh convention. Preregistering has many benefits, including saving a little cash ($30 for a weekend pass instead of $35, along with a discounted T-Shirt Cost) and the option to sign up for our annual Sunday Brunch with the Guests.

And vendors, remember that our Vendor room space can run out, so be sure to register as soon as possible!

  5. Madeleine Says:

I was a congoer last year for my first time, and I loved it. You guys rock.

Anyway, yes, is it going to be at the same hotel? I went with my sister last year and all my friends might be coming this year, with me. We would like to know.

When will you tell us the guests? We have all been a little excited to know who’s attending…

    Madeleine (attendee 1 year)

  6. Liz (Treasurer) Says:

Yes, we will be at the same hotel. Right now we’re between webmasters (and websites) and as soon as that situation is settled we’ll have all of those updates for you!

  7. Cassie Says:

A large group of friends and I are planning to attend the con. However, we’re taking along some people who are going but don’t want to attend the con, but would like to come in briefly to see us in cosplay during any of the activities. If they do, will they have to pay an attendee fee?
If so, I’ll probably be paying for everyone’s fee all together via mail. Are checks or cash taken? If checks are, could you tell me who to write it out to?

  8. Liz (Treasurer) Says:

All checks are payable to “NoBrandCon.” We do take cash, but checks are a little bit less risky over the mail.

Your friends would have to buy a one-day pass in order to watch the Cosplay Contest on Saturday. However, if they would simply like to see you in costume then they can meet you in the lobby or go to a room party with you.

  9. Jacki Says:

Nobrandcon, when are you guys going to post other hotels sence the romada inn is all ready booked and filled up, please do that soon and pick hotles that are near the romada inn please. thaks

  10. Mike, Con Director Says:

    Jacki,

I spoke with the Ramada today to confirm and they do have several rooms available but you have to phone in your reservation. The rooms cannot be booked online as a precaution against the rooms filling up with people not attending the convention. The phone number for the Ramada is 715-835-6121. Let us know if you have any more questions!

  11. Anonymous Says:

When will all of the information for the Artist Alley, Artist Contest, Cosplaying, and other such events be posted so people can begin to work on projects? Thanks.

  12. Jacki Says:

Thanks for that information i’ll contact them as soon as i can. thanks a bunch NBC…Hahahhehe NBC like the network but thats not what i mean…i mean NoBrandCon

  13. Travis Says:

is there any forms i have to print off and fill out, and send with the check?

  15. Liz, Treasurer Says:

The NoBrandCon website should be fully functional in a matter of days. This means that forms and rules will be available shortly.

There’s been a minor complication with the cosplay rules because this year’s draft was lost, but in general the guidelines for the costumes will still be the same. The official rules, judging criteria and all, should be up by the middle of January.

A happy finals week to all and to all a good finals week. To those who are done with finals or have never dealt with them yet, be happy.

  16. Jacki Says:

There are no more rooms at the Romada inn will you post other hotels

  17. Mike, Con Director Says:

    Hi Jacki,
I called the Ramada again to verify and they have around 60 rooms still available. You cannot however reserve them through their website. You have to call (715-835-6121) and say you are making a reservation for No Brand Con. If the Ramada fills the next closest hotel which is only 3 blocks away is the Green Tree Inn. You can call and make a reservation there at 715-835-6121.

  18. Mike, Con Director Says:

    Whoops, the number for Green Tree Inn is (715)832-3411 ^^;

  19. Jacki Says:

Thank you and i will call again to make those reservations.

  20. Travis Says:

Is there a form ready for those registering by check?

  21. Jacki Says:

Just to let you guys know I just called the Ramada Inn and they said they have no openings.

  22. Travis Says:

I called in before thanksgiving for my room, thank god. but all i wanna know about is a check registration form for the con, since i can’t do it by credit card.

  23. Liz (Treasurer) Says:

Jacki: Did you mention NoBrandCon when you called? There should be some more openings left for NoBrandCon attendees. If not, we will post more hotel information when the website is complete (which will be soon).

Travis: We will also have a registration form available as soon as the website is complete. If you’re very impatient, then you could mail a check to:

    NoBrandCon
    P.O. Box 1892
    Eau Claire, WI
    54703

Make the check out to NoBrandCon and include your name, address, and email address for concerns. A T-shirt would be $10 and if you want that as well, please include the T-Shirt size.

  24. Jacki Says:

Yes I did and the lady who answerd said there were no openings during the convention. And to call back to see if there are openings. Something along those lines.

  25. Alexiel Says:

    Hello there.

This year will be my fourth year attending the con, but I got a question on pre-registration.

I wanna reg ASAP, but i’m getting married in March, and will be changing my last name. Should I just pre-reg with what my married name will be? Or should I pre-reg with my current name and be able to email any changes?

  26. Jacki Says:

Hey i just wanna say thanks for putting the numbers up for the hotel i got a hotel room at the ramada inn after calling day in and day out so just thanks for doing that and i’ll see you guys at the convention…my first time going yah

  27. Mike, Con Director Says:

    Hey Alexiel,

You can use either name because at registration you tell the person whatever name you used to register and show a print off of the confirmation. The only thing is if you were to lose your pass during the convention we need to see some form of identification to give you a new one so I would use whichever name it will say on your drivers license.

  28. Virginia Jensen Says:

I just got a room at the hotel, and the nice lady said that there were still rooms, but that they are “going fast”. Thanks to whoever put up the phone number and the comment that you had to call. I tried to book online and wasn’t able to get a room.

This will be my first time at your con!

  29. Kate Says:

One of the up coming conventions will be my first but, I don’t know if I can go to this one on April 18th-20th 2008
(parents haven’t desided yet…) So if I can’t go then is there going to be one in Minnesota? If yes, when and what city?
Thanks for your time and I hope I can make it to one soon!
